Business Areas

With an established track record in direct lending, Venn has developed and manages a number of innovative direct lending businesses

Dutch Residential Mortgages

In March 2014, Venn issued the first publicly placed non-bank Dutch RMBS transaction since the crisis (Cartesian 1 SA). This allows us to access one of the long-term financing channels that is typically only open to banks and other traditional mortgage lenders

We will complement this source of funding with direct long-term financing from insurance companies and pension funds

In March 2016, Venn launched its own Dutch mortgage brand and platform, Venn Hypotheken

Venn Hypotheken has been set-up to be efficient, cost-effective and reliable, allowing us to offer competitively priced mortgages in direct competition to banks

Commercial Real Estate

We have completed in excess of £1.2bn of new lending since inception in 2013

We benefit from a diverse investor base across leading pension funds, insurers and financial institutions throughout Europe and North America

Our team has gained extensive experience in performing, distressed and reconfigured CRE markets, reinforcing our ability to identify and manage compelling investment opportunities

Our long history in the European CRE markets provide us with an in depth knowledge of a variety of asset classes in which we operate – including retail properties, city centre and resort hotels, business park and central office assets, and industrial and logistic assets

Private Rented Sector Guarantee Scheme

In December 2014, and following a public procurement tender process, we were mandated as the delivery partner by the UK’s Department for Communities and Local Government in respect of its £3.5bn Private Rented Sector Guarantee Scheme

Under this mandate, we are responsible for the origination, underwriting, and on-going management of the loans within the scheme

Loans will be secured by purpose-built and professionally managed private rented developments, which are commenced after June 2013

Funding for these loans will be provided by a government guaranteed bond issuance programme established and managed by Venn

Credit Advisory

We have developed a proprietary platform (VeRA) for the management, analysis and valuation of asset backed finance to underpin our investment offering, whilst also making this technology available to third party credit managers

In July 2016, Venn was chosen by the Crown Commercial Service as one of the suppliers for its Framework Agreement to provide Corporate Finance Services in respect to financial assets. It is intended for use across UK Government, and is for an initial period of 3 years. Further details can be found here or alternatively please contact us at moc.srentrap-nnevnull@scc

Among other clients, VeRA has been used by UK Asset Resolution (UKAR), owned by HM Treasury:

“UKAR has been pleased to work with Venn Partners on our £2+bn ABS portfolio over a 5 year period whilst we wound it down to ensure we maximised value for the UK taxpayer. Venn supported us in developing a clear framework for making portfolio management decisions and their team, using their VeRA platform, provided insightful on-going valuation, risk reporting and recommendations on each bond, across a range of asset classes. Venn has been a trusted long term partner in helping us achieve our mission.”  Ian Hares, CEO, UK Asset Resolution

As well as our core lending markets, we have credit experience across a variety of ABS types, including RMBS, CMBS and CLOs
